What is the Church?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Church\u201d is the translation of the Greek term <\/b>ekklesia<\/i><\/b> and is used in the New Testament to identify the community of believers in Jesus Christ. <\/b><\/p>\n It literally means \u201cassembly,\u201d \u201ccongregation,\u201d or \u201cmeeting.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n A similar term was used in the Old Testament referring to experiences such as \u201cthe day of the assembly,\u201d \u201cthe Lord\u2019s congregation,\u201d or \u201cmeeting before the Lord.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n Matthew <\/a><\/b><\/u>16:18<\/a><\/b><\/u> Acts <\/a><\/b><\/u>14:23<\/a><\/b><\/u> <\/p>\n If <\/b>we mention church, then it is because of Jesus Christ.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n We belong to a church because we believe in Jesus Christ, \u00a0 and we <\/b>want <\/b>to remain in Him, and so we associate with people who <\/b>have <\/b>the same belief.<\/b><\/p>\n The ideal<\/b> is that everyone who attends church should be a \u00a0 Christian, believe in Jesus Christ, and have accepted Jesus Christ as \u00a0 his\/her Lord and Savior.<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n If <\/b>anyone attends Grace Church, then the person believes that: <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Our Church is established on Jesus Christ as the foundation<\/b><\/p>\n The people in it believe in Jesus Christ\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n Being in the church will increase their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM THE CHURCH?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Why are you in church?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n 1. The Bible commands us to do so because you are a \u00a0 part of Christ\u2019s body<\/b><\/p>\n Romans 12:5<\/b><\/p>\n Hebrews <\/b>10:24-25 (KJV)<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n 2. To keep us from sin\u00a0 ; Hebrews 3:12-14<\/b><\/p>\n 3. To encourage each other in the faith; 1 Thessalonians 5:11<\/b><\/p>\n 4. To constantly receive the word of God; Colossians\u00a03:16<\/b><\/p>\n 5. To be sharpened and to sharpen others; Proverbs 27:17<\/b><\/p>\n 6. To exercise your spiritual gifts; Romans 12:5-8 7. So that we can together fulfill the great commission; Matthew 28:19-20<\/b><\/p>\n What other things does the church offer?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n a.Worship<\/b><\/p>\n b.Pray<\/b><\/p>\n c.Seek\u00a0 Help<\/b><\/p>\n a)Death <\/b>of a loved one<\/b><\/p>\n b)Sickness <\/b><\/p>\n c)Distress etc<\/b>.<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A place of celebration<\/b><\/p>\n a.Weddings<\/b><\/p>\n b.Naming ceremony<\/b><\/p>\n c.Baptism \/ Confirmation<\/b><\/p>\n d.Birthdays<\/b><\/p>\n e.Anniversaries<\/b><\/p>\n f.Thanksgiving<\/b><\/p>\n 4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A conduit for giving to the world and supporting other<\/b><\/p>\n a.Donations to the less privileged<\/b><\/p>\n b.Supporting a worthy cause<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n 5.\u00a0\u00a0 Provides the opportunity to discover and\u00a0 enhance your talents and gifts<\/b><\/p>\n 6.\u00a0\u00a0 Provides Godly upbringing and education for our children<\/b><\/p>\n a.Children\u2019s Ministry<\/b><\/p>\n b.Junior Youth<\/b><\/p>\n c.Grace Church Academy<\/b><\/p>\n d.Grace Afterschool <\/b>Programme<\/b><\/p>\n e.Grace Child Development Center (Compassion)<\/b><\/p>\n f.Grace Remedial School<\/b><\/p>\n g.
