Today, we explore the theme *”The Unchanging God is Our Hope and Anchor.”* This message reminds us of God’s steadfast nature and His unwavering commitment to us, His people.

Malachi 3:6 opens with God’s powerful declaration: “For I, the Lord, do not change.” This is the foundation of our faith, offering us a deep, unshakable hope amid life’s storms. Let’s delve into this theme in two parts: first, **God’s Unchanging Nature**—His essence and promises, and second, how God becomes **Our Hope and Anchor** in times of trouble and for our future. May we find renewed faith and peace as we reflect on these truths.

—

I. God’s Unchanging Nature
God’s declaration in Malachi 3:6 reveals two unchanging aspects of His character: **His Essence** and **His Promises**.

1. His Essence
God’s nature—His holiness, love, justice, mercy, and faithfulness—remains constant. While human emotions and circumstances fluctuate, God’s love remains steadfast, His mercy is unending, and His justice is forever righteous. As Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” This assurance means we can rely on God’s unchanging character through all seasons of life.

2. His Promises
God’s promises remain unbroken because He is a covenant-keeping God. The people of Israel, despite their failures, were not consumed because God remembered His covenant. In the same way, we are assured that God will fulfill His promises to us: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). While people and circumstances may change, God’s promises stand firm.

—

II. God as Our Hope
The unchanging nature of God is our source of hope. Why? Because only He can be the anchor for our souls.

1. In Times of Trouble
Psalm 46:1 reminds us that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Knowing that God does not change allows us to turn to Him during storms and uncertainties. When the world feels chaotic, God is our steady rock. Just as Jeremiah proclaimed that “the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases” (Lamentations 3:22), we can trust in His enduring love through every challenge.

2. For the Future
Our hope in God also extends into the unknowns of tomorrow. While we cannot see the future, we know that the God who holds it is the same One who has carried us through our past. His plans for us—to give us “a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11)—remain sure. Our future is secure in His unchanging hands.

—

III. God as Our Anchor
An anchor provides stability, holding a ship in place even in strong currents. God’s unchanging nature is that anchor for our souls, providing stability amid life’s uncertainties.

1. Holding Firm to God’s Word
Hebrews 6:19 calls the hope we have in Christ “an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” The Word of God is our anchor because it reveals His promises, His character, and His unchanging truth. In a world where “truth” often feels fluid, God’s Word remains a firm foundation.

2. Resting in God’s Faithfulness
As we walk with God, our faith is built on the assurance that He is faithful to keep us. Psalm 125:1 affirms, “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.” We can rest, knowing that no matter how turbulent life becomes, God will hold us steady.

—

Conclusion
Today, let us take comfort in knowing that our hope and anchor is the unchanging God. He is our refuge, our strength, and our constant. Amid life’s uncertainties, we can trust that His love, faithfulness, and promises are steadfast. Just as He was faithful to the children of Jacob, so He will be faithful to us.

Let us anchor our lives in God. His unchanging nature guarantees our security, peace, and future. As we move forward, may we hold fast to this truth: in a world that changes, our God remains the same. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, truly our hope and anchor.

Amen.

["post-4536","sermons","type-sermons","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","sermons-category-faith","sermons-tag-reformation-sunday-brigade-sunday","sermons-speakers-rev-eric-acheampong
"imic_sermons_video_mp4":"
"imic_sermons_add_video_mp4":"
["GET
